Line Striping Course
Part 6: Client Loyalty Program

Once you have established your asphalt striping business and you have a client base, you will want to begin a maintenance program for all of your clients.

It is wise to record the name of your client, the work that you did for them and the date you completed the job. With this information you can set up reminders for yourself when it is time for that particular client to be notified that it is time to renew their service to maintain a crisp and fresh looking lot.

We touched on keeping a spreadsheet in Part #5: Pricing and Charging for Asphalt Striping. Keeping all of your client information on hand and up to date will make it easier for you to follow up and get the repeat business. Remember: it is always easier to keep a client than to get a new one.

It is recommended to keep close contact with your clients by sending them newsletters, emails or phone calls thanking them for their business, updating them with your specials and, at the beginning of the year, reminding them to contact you if they have any questions or concerns regarding their line striping needs.

Newsletters:

Your newsletters can be quarterly reminders of services you offer, specials and any other important information you want to pass along to your clients. You can also include before and after pictures of jobs you have completed.

Emails:

When you are developing your client information database, make sure to obtain their email address. This will allow you to contact your clients regarding new offered services, upcoming seasonal specials and a friendly reminder that you are available for additional inquiries and information. This is an economical and effective way to contact and keep in contact with your asphalt striping clients.

Social Media:

One of the fastest ways to connect with your customers is on Facebook - most people who are active there check in several times a day. Try doing a flash sale or promoting an offer on your Facebook business page. Show before-and-after pictures of your work. Post timely tips to help your customers maintain their parking lots. Phone Calls:

A phone call is pretty self-explanatory but there are a couple key points you should think about. Make a friendly call to a client 2 years after you have provided them a service as a reminder of their 2 year anniversary and they should be thinking about having the job updated to keep their parking lot looking fresh and new. Also, being polite, courteous and knowledgeable will help your clients to feel secure in giving you their business.
