How to Use the 4 Ton Reclaimer
You will need:
- One 100 lb vapor propane tank
- Asphalt rake and compactor
- Basic PPE such as gloves, goggles, and heat protection
Steps:
- 1. Load fresh virgin asphalt mix into the hopper or add reclaimed chunks that need reheating.
- 2. Set the target temperature, usually around 300°F, on the PLC control.
- 3. Once the load is at temperature, open the chute and unload onto the prepared patch area.
- 4. Rake the material level, compact as needed, then move to the next location.
Storage & Maintenance
- Purge propane from the system after use
- Clean the hopper every day so material does not build up
- Inspect the ignition system and PLC quarterly
- Replace the heater cartridge after 800 to 1,000 hours or as needed
