Alligator cracks and shallow holes can happen to any asphalt, especially in high-stress areas. Asphalt maintenance clients cannot always shut down an area of their operation for days. With Gator Patch, clients get a durable repair without excessive downtime.
Each bucket of alligator patch covers up to 150 linear feet of half-inch cracks. It’s easy for crews to apply and quick for clients needing to reopen. Given even a little experience, every alligator patch comes out professional grade.
To apply an alligator patch, asphalt maintenance crews must clean out the cracks as much as is reasonable. Then the Gator Patch must be mixed according to the instructions. Teams then use squeegees to get a flush patch for the repair.
Once applied, this alligator patch sets up almost immediately. In many cases, the area can reopen within two to four hours to light traffic while the patch continues to cure. The complete curing process typically requires 50-degree temperatures and no precipitation for 48 hours.
Alligator patch is a reasonable choice for many situations, and in some cases, may outperform regular crack filler. Since it is applied with a squeegee, crews do not need to traverse the same parking lot area multiple times.

What causes the Gator Patch to cure slowly over the course of a week?
Gator Patch is temperature-sensitive. When it is extremely hot, it reacts slower to cure as the humidity plays a major factor in the curing process. The heat also softens the gator film and tire marks will be present. After it cools down, the Gator Patch will harden.
Even with the hot weather, the Gator Patch will continue to absorb moisture from rain, and humidity for a short period of time.
We do not recommend applying the Gator Patch when there is a chance of rain as the asphalt will be wet and/or the temperature will be below 50°F.
Another factor is if the Gator Patch applied is thicker than the required specifications, it will also contribute to the slow cure time. It should be applied in multiple layers, as needed, to ensure that it dries and cures as quickly as possible.

Remove with trowel and use a trowel or push squeegee to apply to cracks in the same way you would grout the lines of a tile floor for example.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElOXarbZe84
