For standardized numbering along a vertical curve, use the 3" number kit for curbs. Each stencil is designed specifically for the use of curbside numbering, such as in home addresses or parking space designations. While the numbers are best used for the curb, they are versatile enough to be used on a flat ground as well. The number stencils are equipped with a 5.5" plastic sheeting to help hold it in place, and they can lay flat on the ground for other pavement work as well. The amount of overspray differs between curb and ground, and the 1.5" offset between each number helps to keep each spray aligned.
The specifications of the number stencils and their associated parts are in correspondence with industry standards and meet Federal regulations and requirements. As the name specifies, each number and character is 3" in height, with a width ranging between 2.2" and 2.3" depending on the shape of the number. 10 numbers are available, including 0 through 9, as well as two end pieces to help hold them in place and evenly space them out.
The stencils can be delivered on the next day of order, helping you put your project into action. If you’re planning on reusing the stencils multiple times over a long period of projects, it is recommended to order the 5/64" LDPE or the 1/8" LDPE grade material for durability and repeated use. Both brands are a common industry standard that can be used thousands of time before showing signs of wear. These materials typically last several years when properly cared for. Along with the proper material grade, you can also add an additional option of including more numbers in your kit. The standard kit comes with 12 pieces, but can easily be upgraded to 18 pieces to give you an extra 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
